Red Arrows coming to Weymouth

The Weymouth Carnival is only five days away and the town is already getting ready for a bumper week. If you haven’t got it in your diary yet - don’t forget it is Wednesday 19th August and it is a great day out for anyone holidaying or camping in Dorset.

The fun-packed day starts early and this year there is going to be spectacular air displays as well as lots of fun on the ground. The esplanade is going to be full of lots of charity and trade stalls, a fun fair, and is a perfect place to grab an ice cream and watch the Red Arrows show off their skills above the beach.

If you haven’t seen the Red Arrows in Weymouth before then you are in for a treat. Flying low over the town, the back drop of Weymouth Bay makes this event an amazing spectacle. This year the skies will also be filled with the Red Devils Parachute Display Team and the Guinot Wing Walkers!!

There will also be lots taking place on Weymouth beach with a whole host of family entertainment including

• Sand Castle Competition
• Tug of War
• Search and Rescue Display by Weymouth’s finest!

At around 6pm the Grand Parade starts it way into town. Starting from Lodmoor and running all along the Esplanade to the Pavillion it will be a great sight. If you fancy joining in give the organisers a call beforehand. But you will be accompanying some seasoned Parade professionals if you do. Watch out for the Majorwrecks, the Dolphin Marching Band, Majorette Troupes and the Weymouth Football Club to name a few taking part.

The Firework Display starts at 9.30pm and really is one spectacular show. If last year’s fireworks are anything to go by you will not be disappointed.

So if you are in Weymouth or the surrounding Dorset area this coming week make your way down to Weymouth Seafront and enjoy the fun!
